Biography of Nizami Ganjavi
Nizami Ganjavi was a Persian poet, known as one of the greatest poets in the history of Persian literature.
A deeply personal account of his life, tracing his journey from a young, shy boy in India to becoming the leader of the Indian independence movement.
He is considered the founder of non-literary, realistic epic style. His legacy continues to be highly acclaimed in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Tajikistan. Nizami was born in the town of Ganja, which was a part of the Great Seljuq empire and is now a part of Azerbaijan.
He spent most of his life in the South Caucasus region. Although he was never a court poet, his name is not mentioned in historical works that narrate the ruling dynasties of that time.
