          SPORTS HALL OF FAME HISTORY

          The Pennsylvania American Legion Sports Hall of Fame was organized in1963 to honor those persons, whether members of The American Legion or not, for their outstanding accomplishments to the youth of Pennsylvania.

          There are many individuals throughout our state who give of their time, talent and personal finances in some form for youth athletic programs.

          Recommendations into the Sports Hall of Fame must be made by application which can be procured from the Regional Director and submitted to the Director of Activities, P.O.

          Box 2324, Harrisburg, PA 17105, no later than September 1 of the current year.

          After the individuals are recommended and selected, an appro­priate award ceremony is conducted at the Annual State Championship Baseball finals dinner the following August.
